I just couldn't resist a walk out to Bleaklow today, for we have had the first snow covering of the winter. With a well packed bag (bothy bag, bivi bag, spare gloves, hat, hand warmers, flask of hot ribena, food, compass, map, waterproof trousers) I met up with Rachel and off we went. Half an hour after leaving Old Glossop we got to Shelf Benches and well into the snow. We'd only intended to be out a few hours, so we wandered along Shelf Benches, headed towards James Thorn then back down to Spring Cabin. At the highest point we were engulfed in a full on snow storm, strong chilly winds were enough for my waterproof trousers to be put on! Here's some photos for you to enjoy:
