How could anyone resist getting out and having fun in the snow? We headed up onto Bleaklow with full winter kit and had an excellent adventure bashing through the snow drifts and groughs up to the B29 plane wreck behind Higher Shelf Stones trig point. Enjoy the photos...

Buzzing about on Bleaklow
Sunday was our annual Glossopdale Harriers Christmas run, which this year also coincided with the winter solstice. We do try to do the solstice run at the appropriate time, but this year it was at around 11pm so our run was 12 hours early. A group of about 30 of us gathered in Old Glossop...with a good selection of fancy dress costumes! The weather was bracing on top, strong wind meant any stops had us hunkering down behind peat groughs or rocks.
The afternoon was full of GDH merriment and maybe a keg of beer....well, it is Christmas afterall and we did earn beer tokens on our run :)
Merry Christmas everyone!

Bleaklow Wreck Run
Sunshine and a warm gentle breeze greeted us for today's run across Bleaklow to the B29 Superfortress plane wreck. It was a superb day to be out fell running, and I think you'll agree the photographs speak for themselves.

Great running from everyone today, including one lady who was out on her very first fell run - super effort.

Sunday LSD
A lovely Sunday morning run took me up Doctors Gate, across the top of Crooked Clough to the trig point at Higher Shelf Stones and back via James Thorn and Shelf Benches; 12.5km in 1:47. A nice long steady distance.
